In 1991, River Montijo began writing poetry and short stories for children and adults. She holds an MFA from the Otis College of Art and Design and an MArch from California Polytechnic University. She studied at the University of Iowa’s summer writing program for three years. Her work has appeared in various publications, including Cricket Magazine, Easy Reader, and the compilation Poetry in the Garden. She is a resident of Los Angeles and Doha, Qatar.
